Full Wolf Moon
As we speak.
"The Wolf Moon is a name for the full moon that occurs in January. This name is popularly attributed to the Native Americans. According to popular culture this name was chosen because they heard hungry wolf packs howling outside the villages. This full moon is also known as the Old Moon or the Moon After Yule.
There is a great deal of variation in the moon names around the world, but it is likely that the link between January and the wolf stems from the Scottish Gaelic term Faoilleach and it was later mistakenly attributed to local tribes. While the Farmer's Almanac [1] attribute this to the Algonquin, the Algonquin name for that moon is squochee kesos or "sun has not strength to thaw".[2] The Sioux do mention wolves in their name for January, which means "when wolves run together".[3]
However, they also refer to that moons as the "moon of the strong cold"
or "frost in the teepee". Other tribes had different names for the
moons. [4]
Since the lunar month is roughly 29.53 days long on the average, the full moon dates shift from year to year."

Cherokee
Never knew love like this
The wind, moon, the earth, the sky
Sky so high
Never knew pain like this
Everything die, then die
Never knew love like this
The sun, the sea and I
Never knew pain, never knew shame
Now I know why
Bury me, marry me to the sky
Marry, marry me to the sky
Feels like time is on my time
Bury me upside down
Cherokee, kissing me
When I’m, I’m going down
Feels like time is on my time
Bury me upside down
Cherokee, kissing me
When I’m, I’m going down
Never knew love like this
The wind, moon, the earth, the sky
Sky so high
Never knew pain like this
Everything die, then die
Never knew love like this
The sun, the sea and I
Never knew pain, never knew shame
Now I know why
Bury me, marry me to the sky
Marry, marry me to the sky
Feels like time is on my time
Bury me upside down
Cherokee, kissing me
When I’m, I’m going down
Feels like time is on my time
Bury me upside down
Cherokee, kissing me
When I’m, I’m going down
Feels like time is on my time
Bury me upside down, down
Cherokee, kissing me
When I’m, I’m going down.

The Rainbow Portrait
Elizabeth I: The Rainbow Portrait
Circa 1600, by Isaac Oliver
This portrait can be viewed at Hatfield House. Oliver was a pupil of Elizabeth's favorite court painter, Nicholas Hilliard, and the brother-in-law of Marcus Gheeraerts the Younger. Some historians have argued that Gheeraerts painted this portrait, but most favor Oliver.
